Epionce Lite Refresh Peel Pre & Post Care
Epionce Lite Refresh Pre-Care Instructions
What to Know Before:
The Epionce Lite Refresh Peel is a gentle, botanical-based chemical exfoliation designed to refresh and brighten dull skin with minimal downtime. It removes the outermost layer of dead skin cells and stimulates renewal for a smoother, more radiant glow.
This treatment is often called a “lunchtime peel” because it is quick, comfortable, and requires little to no recovery time. Most clients experience a mild tingling or warming sensation during treatment and a slight tightness afterward. There is typically no visible peeling, and you can return to normal activities right away.
5–7 Days Before Treatment
- Stop using any products that contain retinoids, retinol, tretinoin, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, salicylic acid, or other exfoliating ingredients.
- Avoid waxing, threading, dermaplaning, or any other exfoliating treatments.
- Discontinue acne medications such as benzoyl peroxide.
- Avoid direct sun exposure, self-tanner, and tanning beds.
- Stay well-hydrated and keep skin moisturized using gentle products only.
3 Days Before Treatment
- Use only a mild cleanser and moisturizer such as the Epionce Gentle Foaming Cleanser and Renewal Calming Cream.
- Do not exfoliate or use at-home peel products.
- Avoid excessive heat exposure or activities that may irritate the skin.
Day of Treatment
- Arrive with a clean face, free of makeup, sunscreen, or moisturizer.
- Do not apply self-tanner or heavy skincare products.
- Reschedule your appointment if you have a sunburn, open lesion, cold sore, or active skin infection.
- If you are feeling unwell or have been recently ill, please postpone your appointment until you have fully recovered.
Retinols and Retinoids
Retinols and prescription retinoids are vitamin A–based products that increase cell turnover and collagen production.
Common examples include over-the-counter retinol, retinaldehyde, Retin-A, and adapalene.
Because these products can increase skin sensitivity, discontinue them for 5–7 days before your peel to minimize irritation and ensure an even, safe result.
Contraindications
This peel should not be performed if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active cold sores or open wounds, have used Accutane within the past six months, are experiencing a flare of eczema, psoriasis, or rosacea, or are sunburned.
What to Expect
Results develop gradually. Skin often feels smoother and looks brighter immediately after the treatment. Mild dryness or flaking may occur between days 2–4, and visible improvement in tone and texture is usually seen within one week. A series of treatments every 2–4 weeks provides the best long-term results.
It is normal to experience mild redness, warmth, or tightness after the peel. Light dryness or flaking is expected between days 2–4. Less common effects include temporary irritation, mild darkening of pigmentation (especially in deeper skin tones), or a cold sore flare-up in clients who are prone.
Purging vs. Breakouts
You may notice a few small whiteheads after your peel as the skin purges impurities. This is temporary and a normal sign of increased cell turnover. These breakouts typically appear in common areas such as the chin or jawline and clear within about a week.
If you experience painful cystic breakouts, spreading irritation, or any unusual reaction, contact your provider for guidance.

Normal Skin Reactions
Immediately After Treatment
The skin may feel warm, tight, or slightly tingly for several hours. A light pink or flushed appearance is normal and typically fades within the first day. The skin often feels smooth and looks more radiant right away.
First Few Days
Mild dryness, flaking, or tightness can occur as the skin renews itself. Sensitivity to skincare or temperature changes may also be noticed. These effects are temporary and part of the natural renewal process.
Days 2–4
Light flaking or dry patches may appear as the outer layer exfoliates gently. Do not pick, scrub, or rub the skin. Continue gentle cleansing and moisturizing to support healing and avoid irritation.
Days 5–7
Most dryness will resolve, leaving the skin softer, smoother, and more even in tone. Mild sensitivity may persist but should continue to improve daily.
Less Common Reactions
Temporary redness, stinging with product application, or a few small whiteheads may appear as the skin purges impurities. These are normal and typically resolve within a week. Contact your provider if redness lasts longer than 48 hours or if you experience swelling, blistering, or a cold sore outbreak.
When to Call
- Contact your provider if redness lasts longer than 48 hours.
- Report any burning, swelling, blistering, or cold sore outbreaks. Your provider can recommend ways to calm and protect the skin if these occur.
Maintenance
The Epionce Lite Refresh Peel may be repeated every 2–4 weeks for most clients, or every 4–6 weeks for those with more sensitive skin or when alternating with other treatments.
Consistent use of Epionce home care, daily sunscreen, and proper hydration will help maintain your glow and support long-term results.
